Whether you’re struggling in life or are just questioning the reason for your energy on the Earth, finding your why can help clarify your purpose in life. It can keep you focused on goals, build resilience and help you live a healthier life. When you have a sense of purpose, you’ll feel unstoppable since you’ll be so focused on your goals.

Come Up with Activities That Make Time Fly

Have you ever sat down and read a book or played your favorite sport and hours flew by before you noticed? Whatever that activity is for you, it’s essential to observe the concept psychologists call the “flow.” This captures the positive mental state when you’re completely absorbed and focused on an activity that brings enjoyment.

These moments are where you find your passions. Rather than doing something that drains you and has you checking the clock constantly, do something that makes you feel like you are in the “flow” state.

Think of Reasons People Come to You for Help

You may have a specific talent or quality that leaves your friends returning to you in certain situations. Perhaps you’re a great listener or have a knack for repairing cars. The appreciation your loved ones have for certain qualities can bring fuel to your work.

Sometimes it can be challenging to see your strengths, but other people naturally see them in you. Look for common reasons people come to you — it may uncover something you never noticed.

Imagine What You’d Do With Limited Time Left

Thinking about the end of life is not the most fun thing, but it forces you to remember what’s truly important about the time you have. Considering the length of time you really have can encourage you to be yourself and not worry about what others think — whether that means wearing whatever clothes make you feel confident or pursuing a career you’re passionate about.

If you don’t feel like you have a sense of direction or purpose, it may be because you haven’t figured out what’s important and what you value. Death is inevitable for everyone and can give a clear perspective on your values or how you want to be remembered.

Consider Tasks You Would Do for Free

Some people live to work and others work to live. If you aren’t doing something you enjoy and feel confident doing, there will never be the dreaded feeling of going to work the next day. If you’re working somewhere you aren’t happy with, try to identify parts of the job you enjoy. It might lead you in the direction of a career you love. Aligning your personal and professional life can bring your purpose to fruition since your career is something you do almost every day.

Discovering Your Why to Achieve Your Goals

Finding your why is essential to bringing clarity to your aims while challenging and inspiring yourself. There may be multiple or changing whys as you navigate personal growth. No matter what it is, be sure it brings your life joy each day.
