As usual, we were trying to fit in too much to our overly packed schedule on this Tuesday afternoon.

We were rushing around to get the bags packed and out the door in time for our spa appointment. We were creating stress, missing the special excitement of the moment.

As we pulled into the complimentary valet at The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch, we were greeted with the calm energy and hospitable services of the bellmen. We then walked in to meet the concierge and check in, greeted by more welcoming and peaceful vibes.

This is when I realized how much I needed a mindful timeout from the tunnel vision that happens in day-to-day life. Mountain Mindfulness is designed to give you that much-needed retreat.

Walking into The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is nothing short of breathtaking. A warm fireplace and smiling faces lead you into the resort’s warm and spacious great room with views of the ski mountain right outside the door.

Walking into The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is nothing short of breathtaking.

I took a deep breath to really let it all sink in, taking a short pause before heading to the room to prepare for our spa appointment.

Our couples’ massage was amazing, and fully complete with two flutes of champagne and a dish of fresh fruit to enjoy in the grotto. I could really feel the calm wash over me in the serene cave-like oasis, and I could feel a sense of ease settling in with every passing moment.

Feeling relaxed, we enjoyed our beautiful room with another glass of bubbles and a good read of our books. The sun started to set as we got ready for dinner, and we took time to observe the light changing over the mountains before heading to Buffalos for a bite to eat.

The Ritz-Carton Bachelor Gulch has two fantastic places to indulge yourself in a culinary experience. WYLD and Buffalos. WYLD is a fine dining experience focused on sustainable meats and seafoods. Buffalos is a gastropub serving American classics with a Colorado flair. Both outlets are perfect for your mindful getaway.

The next morning we enjoyed a group yoga class. The teacher led us though a very focused and mindful class as a snow storm rolled in — what a perfect way to start the day.

The only thing that would have made our experience more ideal would be to stay another night, maybe more. This property is truly a Rocky Mountain gem — just two hours from Denver and ready to host anyone looking for that extra special dose of Mountain Mindfulness.

Mountain Mindfulness at The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is valid weekends through November 10, 2018

Starting at $349 per night, the package includes:

  • Scheduled group wellness class (per night)
  • Two 60-minute spa treatments (per night)
  • Complimentary Valet Parking and Resort Fee (per night)
  • Overnight accommodations
