Maine YogaFest (MYF) is Maine’s premier yoga festival offering a wide variety of yoga workshops of multiple styles. Taught by local and New England teachers, the festival is a celebration of all that yoga is and does for humanity — physically, mentally and spiritually. Over the course of the three-day weekend, attendees will have the opportunity to plug into this amazing yoga community, meet new teachers and fellow yogis, perhaps experience a new yoga style, listen to live music and explore all that the vendors and sponsors have to offer.

With 44 unique and varied yoga workshops to choose from, a well-rounded healing village offering reiki, acupuncture, massage, reflexology, essential oils, chiropractic assessments and more, a vibrant vendor village with local artisans and vendors, live music with Alicia Mathewson, Swam Kirtan and Shiva Lila Kirtan, food trucks and more, there is plenty to do and explore! Festival organizers encourage green living practices in the community by promoting recycling, discouraging wastefulness and showcasing the natural setting of Maine.

“Yoga in Sanskrit means ‘yoking’ or ‘union,’” explains Andrea Gleason, event director for Maine YogaFest. “We truly believe that gathering to practice yoga together and celebrate community as a festival creates a magical experience that benefits each and every one of us!”

Gleason and her team seek to promote the benefits and practice of yoga. There is a benefit to everyone who participates: teachers meet new students, students meet other students and teachers, students explore new styles of yoga, people meet local vendors and listen to local musicians, everyone meets new sponsor businesses, and everyone moves and breathes together, fostering a sense of community.
