The weather is starting to shift in Colorado as spring arrives. It is still cold in the mountains, but I find the use of my 800-fill puffy to be dwindling. The Spyder Syrround Hybrid Hoody Jacket is perfect as we transition into warmer days. It allows me to maintain warmth in the cooler mornings, and the breathability is perfect as the temperatures increase throughout the day and then heavily drop again in the evening.
The Hybrid Hoody combines everything from the full-down jacket with a four-way stretch to double knit fabric down the side panels, making it breathable and easy to move in. You still get the warmth and water resistant Spylon DWR of the full-down jacket. It also tucks into its own pocket, making it great to take along as an extra layer on many adventures.
I found the Hybrid Hoody to come in handy in many situations. During the winter this was an essential in my backpack while skinning. It was the perfect layer to fit under my shell to keep me warm on the descents and when I resort skinned and skied a few laps. On my morning hikes, the breathability helped moderate my body temperature. It kept me cool enough to not sweat through all of my layers. This is a very versatile jacket to have in the arsenal. I am looking forward to bringing my Hybrid Hoody along on upcoming summer backpacks and camping trips.
