Try It On : Title Nine Manresa Hoodie + Joggers | By Lexi Reich and Kim Fuller
Hoodie
While walking down Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall on a snowy winter night, I decided to take a break from errands and drop-in to a local studio’s two-hour yin and massage event. I put my winter jacket and boots in a cubby and entered the candlelit space, rolling out my yoga mat in a corner spot. I was wearing my favorite black leggings and Title Nine’s Manresa Hoodie — it turned out to be the best outfit imaginable for this experience.
We began class with breath work and meditation sitting upright. It felt warm and supportive using the thumbholes to frame the mudra the teacher offered to the class. We flowed through some light movement before finding our way into restorative yin postures. The hoodie kept me warm, but not too warm during this experience, as it’s breathable enough to be active in. I appreciated the thin, light-weight, ultra-soft material as the instructor performed adjustments and massage techniques. It helped keep the practice very cozy and rejuvenating not having to focus on adjusting my clothing or thinking about the rest of the week’s to-dos.
I was so impressed by the hoodie that I wanted to test it out in other environments (it’s hard to not love everything while in a yin and massage event!). Throughout the following week I wore the hoodie while hiking up Mount Sanitas on a sunny, 45-degree day — and loved it; I wore it on a flight to visit family for the holidays — and loved it. The soft cotton feel is perfect to throw over leggings and layer with a jacket if needed. The hoodie is true to size and ample for a road trip, flight, running errands, or even a special yin yoga class. It worked great hiking outside (the kangaroo pocket held my phone), but because of some wind I had to throw a light jacket on top, so keep that in mind if you’re using this hoodie for added warmth. I think it works better as a base layer. ~Lexi Reich
The Manresa Hoodie comes in five colors and is $89.
Joggers
These are the “comfy pants” I reach for as soon as I walk in the door after work. The mid-rise fit and soft terry fabric is ideal to slip into when it’s time to chill or prepare dinner, and on the weekends I never want to take them off.
I increasingly appreciate the tapered and cuffed ankle of the jogger style, as I can move and stretch and even do a full yoga class and the joggers stay in place. The Manresa Joggerseven have an elastic waist with an internal drawstring so I can tie them tight or keep ‘em loose. The two front hand pockets and two back pockets keep my hands free when I’m doing house chores or running errands, and I especially like the internal mesh pocket in the front pocket. This detail allows me to easily bring along money and identification while running around town casually, without worry of losing any valuables.
You could hike or even work up a good sweat in these joggers, but I prefer to keep them as loungewear. They run true to size, so if you want them to fit close-to-skin then lean toward a smaller size, but if you want a looser fit then think about going a little larger.
More than any feature or detail, it’s the “Fresh Terry” blend (52 percent polyester/43 percent lyocell/5 percent spandex) of these joggers that really set them apart. The soft cotton is almost silky — a perfect invitation to take some time off and relax. ~Kim Fuller
