Try It Out : Honey Stinger | By Lexi Reich

Honey Stinger makes honey-based energy fuel that serves as a healthier alternative to sugary bars available on the market. Made with whole ingredients, the Honey Stinger Organic Cracker Bar is tasty — and I’m a firm believer fuel should be delicious.

A small company located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Honey Stinger’s creators are avid outdoorsmen and adventure-seekers.

On a recent hike in Boulder’s Mount Sanitas, I enjoyed the Almond Butter Dark Chocolate flavor at the peak of my ascent. With eyes glazed over the Rocky Mountains, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the bar and how it immediately gave me the energy to climb down the mountain.

While there are more nutrition-junkie bars out there, Honey Stinger is a great option if you’re looking for a reliable, energizing snack. Plus, the taste really is unmatched — it’d be hard to find someone who doesn’t enjoy their selection of waffles, bars and energy gels.

What I love about Honey Stinger is the sustainable and ethical sourcing of their honey. They abide by the True Source Honey initiative which seeks to sustain the U.S. honey sector by supporting transparent companies and importers of high-quality honey. Plus, the ingredient itself is scientifically proven to provide sustained energy for athletic performance.

I’m heading on a road trip this weekend to Utah and have already packed a handful of their bars for the car ride. I’m eager to test out their energy gels for more intensive exercise in the future —but from what I’ve listened to in the Hive Life Podcast and read in their blog, athletes rave about it.
