Lotus House of Yoga believes that yoga exists to calm the winds of the mind and uncover one’s authentic truth. Their philosophy is based on community, the energy body and personal evolution. Especially today, sisters and founders Mary Clare and Anne Sweet argue their offerings are not only desired, but deeply needed.

“Humans have the capacity to live their strengths,” says Mary Clare. “At Lotus House we want just that — for you to become more of your authentic self, not to conform to some perception of perfection. In fact, we are kind of bored with perfect, we love the unique/misfit energy within ourselves and the world.”

Lotus House is a family and female-owned and operated company based in Nebraska. It was born from a passion for the ancient lineage of the practice and a desire to share that with an unfamiliar community. A decade into the business and Lotus House continues to lead with love and the mission to share joy through yoga.

Now, yogis from all over the world can experience the highly educated teachers and spirit-based wellness practices that compose the “Lotus vibe.” The Lotus House On Demand platform was created to mirror the way it feels in the studio, and features short classes to full practices, in addition to sculpt trainings, their official 200-Hour Yoga School and Shakti Prenatal Training. In 2021, the 300-Hour training curriculum will be available.

“Our yoga, cycle, sculpt and Pilates classes have grown to a global renown,” Anne shares. “We have a lighthearted approach to life, we take music seriously, and rely on each other as family. Our core values are keeping the beginners mind, always learning, leading with love and fairness, and having fun along the way.”

While staying at home is a common expectation in today’s society, finding home within oneself and their community is less touched on.

“Everyone will find a home for their yoga practice and if you haven’t yet, don’t give up. Your community is out there for you,” says Mary Clare. “Our community, the students that come to Lotus, are the absolute best. I am truly amazed at the work that they do in the world. Their yoga and movement practice at Lotus makes them more aligned to their truth, which in turn helps them live a passionate life.”

2020 has also revealed where more equity and growth are needed, and the Lotus House has stepped up.

“Collectively, we uncovered the way white supremacy has been woven into wellness and simultaneously we experienced a new level of gratitude for all of the love we have shared. We have big plans for our partnership with BlackandPink.org that integrates it all. What I know about yoga is that you cannot unlearn what your heart has experienced,” Mary Clare says.

The 2021 dates for their annual wellness and teacher training retreat in Holbox, Mexico will be announced soon.

Many CBD companies out there make full-spectrum products, but @miraflora.co, a CBD company based in Boulder, CO, takes it to a whole new level, starting with the way they grow the hemp itself. Call it full-spectrum farming, if you will.

@holisticyogaschoolcolorado was born over a decade ago with the intention to create a Yoga Shala, a community place for learning and growth. Krista Davis founded the school, drawing inspiration from many years of traveling, living and teaching in conscious communities and yoga centers around the world. To this day, the school continues to thrive as a family-owned and operated small business.
The benefits of meditation are alluring. However, there is no instant, one-size-fits-all solution — like most things in life. In fact, researchers recommend practicing meditation daily for at least 10 to 20 minutes to reap rewards. Most importantly, always remember: the only unsuccessful meditation is the meditation not taken.
@mnyogalifemag congratulations on your new issue! So happy we could celebrate at the virtual reveal party. Great work @amyzellmer and your amazing team, and gorgeous shot of cover model @ericka.jones_ !
