Try It Out : Sherpani Tempest Bag | By Lexi Reich

Last Updated: May 1, 2020By

I’ve fallen in love with the Sherpani Tempest Bag. It seamlessly converts from a backpack to a tote in one swift motion, and holds all your necessities neatly and compactly. This functional and versatile piece is sustainability made and fashion forward — making it my go-to since I acquired it last winter.

The bag is vegan and from Sherpani’s American Ethos Collection, which features hand-painted, hand-glazed cotton canvas inspired by a time when textile creation was an art form. The bag wears like your favorite pair of blue jeans — comfortable and stylish. It looks good, feels good and does good.

Sherpani has thought of all the details: a secured zipper main opening, dual side cinches, stylized tassel zipper pullers and a hidden side zippered security pocket. I equally enjoy the backpack and tote functions, and have used this bag as a carry-on, everyday work bag and around town running errands. It adds a touch of glam to any look while still being extremely useful. I can fit everything I need in it, from my laptop, journal and wallet to sunglasses, snacks and a book. The straps are thick enough to offer ample support, but thin enough to lock in the chic look.

Sherpani is committed to sustainability in all levels of production. The Blue Verve Project, launched in 2009, has repurposed an estimated 3.2 million water bottles that might have otherwise polluted our lands and seas. In 2018, they were awarded the “All-In” Champions of Sustainability Award from their fabric partner REPREVE. Their Essentials Collection is made from 100 percent REPREVE recycled fiber. Sherpani was all about sustainability before it became a much-needed trend.

The Sherpani Tempest Bag retails for $149.95 and can be purchased at sherpani.com.
