As a student of yoga for almost two decades, Liz gravitates toward the balance of yin and yang in yoga practice and in life. Her fast-paced life in NYC brought her to donation-based yoga: pay what you can. After yoga training came life coach training (and many more yoga trainings!) Then, her love of nature brought her to Colorado — to slow down, to connect to her inner rhythms and to guide others in this process. This journey and curiosity in her own personal practice guides Liz as a yoga teacher.
As a RYT-200 in Colorado, Liz guides her students through important aspects of life and yoga practice with a focus on the mind, body and breath connection. She offers a combination of donation-based, weekly yoga classes — primarily Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and guided Yoga Nidra. She also curates pop-up events and retreats. At the core of Liz’s teaching is the belief that we thrive together, which aligns with Liz Layne Yoga’s highest values of connection and love.
Her students say, “In a life so hectic for many of us, Liz brings calm, care, perspective and growth to each one of her classes.”
One of Liz’s favorite offerings is teaching others how to hand-knot their own mala beads. When Liz discovered Japa Meditation, it changed her meditation practice almost instantly! The physical connection and point-of-focus to the beads helped her to drop into her practice in a way that she had never experienced before. When Liz learned how to create her own mala, she intuitively knew that she was meant to share this practice with others in a way that honors the tradition of Japa Meditation and shares the gift of connection to self.
As a lifelong student, Liz approaches yoga and life with curiosity and yoga philosophy, and she invites you to join her. Whatever you are seeking, Liz’s classes offer something for everyone.
