At the Vail Public Library, community members should expect superb service, no matter what. Library staff feel strongly about their customer service ethics.
“Our vision is: To enrich our community. Our mission is: To make a world of difference through collaboration, service and resources, to inform and inspire our community of users. Our core values are: Service, Excellence, Integrity, Engagement, Wellness and Environmental Consciousness,” says Lori Barnes, director of library services.
The library values the community, not only within the Town of Vail, but also throughout Eagle County and into the wider Colorado Public Library community. People of all ages and all walks of life should expect to enter the library and be met with friendly, engaged staff who are always willing to assist.
The library is open daily, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., for browsing, checkout and computer use. In addition, services extend beyond the building through their website, electronic newsletter, media coverage via radio and social media efforts via Facebook and Instagram. As a department of the Town of Vail, the library is following public health protocols provided by Eagle County and the State of Colorado for safe use of public spaces. A face covering is required to enter the building, and social distancing is still in effect.
